Dr. Mark Shaw

Dr. Mark Shaw completed Orthopaedic training in 1993. He has returned to private practice in Brisbane after 14 years of Orthopaedic service in Mackay, North Queensland.

Dr. Shaw is a General Orthopaedic Surgeon skilled in all aspects of Orthopaedic Surgery. His special interests are disorders of the shoulder and upper limb and regularly updates skills in shoulder arthroscopy at the Tricity Advanced Shoulder Arthroscopy Course in San Diego. With long service in provincial Queensland, he also gained expertise in disorders of the lower limb and spine. Postgraduate training included experience in total knee replacement with world renowned knee surgeon, Dr Barry Sorels, in the USA. Dr. Shaw became one of the most experienced knee replacement surgeons in North Queensland having performed more than 1000 of these procedures.

Being an experienced General Orthopaedic Surgeon allows Dr. Shaw to provide advice and treatment of multiple Orthopaedic complaints. Dr. Shaw has 15 years experience with Workers Compensation and welcomes injured workers. He discounts consultations for pensioners and avoids "out-of-pocket" expenses with surgery for most privately insured patients.

Dr. Shaw provides medicolegal reports for Lawyers and Insurance companies. His general Orthopaedic experience provides an expert opinion on all Orthopaedic complaints especially useful for multiple injuries.
